Southwest Vacation

Following are some pictures from the grownup's visit to New Mexico.  We highly recommend it.  While there are no photographs to document it, apparently the under-21 Powells of Parkton had a great time at Grandma Annie's.

The weather in Santa Fe is always beautiful.  When you go up in the mountains the temperature drops about 10 degrees, and when you go down to Albuquerque, it's about 10 degrees warmer.  But it doesn't really rain anywhere.
This is the view from the top of Atalaya Mountain (9100+ ft.) - we hiked from the bottom (7200 ft.).  Still got it.  (If you can see the circular building to the left of the tree (clicking on the picture first helps)...well, we started on the other side of it.  It was probably a 15 minute hike in an arroyo to get to that building.)
Mike considered jumping off, just to see what would happen.
One of the art museums in Santa Fe.  Most of the buildings are similar to this (adobe), but this is a particularly nice one.
Tracey and Uncle Sonny in Oldtown Albuquerque.  He's a great tour guide.  And he and Aunt Patti were generous hosts.
